I'll Go with the Peanut Butter Sandwich, Thank You

Just read a post by Matthew Archbold at Creative Minority Report about Secretary of Education Arne Duncan's ideas about education in our country. Apparently the days of moms waiting at home with a peanut butter sandwich are over in our country.

While we're eating our peanut butter sandwiches and lovingly preparing them for our children to have when they get home (oh wait they're already home), let's take Joe up on his challenge at Defend Us in Battle to not watch TV until August. Are there seriously only 3 1/2 days left in August? I thought it was June.

P.S. - Vincenzo, if you read this, PLEASE don't post a picture of me eating a peanut butter sandwich on the side of the road in Alaska. :)

  1. Peanut butter is expensive here... you would be eating a Salmon sandwich.

  2. @Joe... Maybe that's why Sec. Duncan made the comment about peanut butter because it's too expensive.

Still need to talk my husband into the TV thing, I'm all in though :)

  3. Ah ... peanut butter sandwiches! Lovely!

I understand Americans add jelly (jam) too. Never tried that. But I once saw Colombo on TV adding raisins on top of his sandwich. That is nice.

    God bless.

  4. @Victor... yes we love peanut butter and jelly around here! Our family especially likes homemade strawberry jam that my husband makes. We ran out the other day and I tried to talk our kids into peanut butter and honey but they wouldn't even try even though it's yummy too!!

They like ants on a log for snack: celery with peanut butter and raisins on top :)

  6. @Vincenzo... I debated whether or not to type in "and that's not a dare." Seems as though my instinct was right :). Should've gone with it. I think I like the other picture better.

BTW, I love your blogs. Amentior is a lot of fun and just started reading SANCTE PATER. Still trying to figure out where to go with my blog. Mainly it is a way for me to write what is in my heart, which is a bit intense some times and usually ends up with a prayer, thank God. Other times, I just have a lot of crazy thoughts that sometimes I write and sometimes just keep to myself because everyone would think it was too weird.
