If they show one thing, it is that honest, inspired, and passionately played, beautiful music will always draw people in. These four men have arenas packed with humanists and Christians alike, singing together: "Awake, my soul. You were made to meet your maker."Wow. I am really looking forward to reading and listening to more at this blog. I love music. Can't think of a better way to say it. I just love music. Period. Go check out Sacred Sounds.
It is music that sings of our need for grace and of the pain that comes in life. These are songs of the desire to break out of our little selves, out of our fear of death, out of our broken love, and they are sung as such. They are songs sung which profess our need for heaven. They are songs sung in the poetry of the grand English tradition of Shakespeare.

That's a cool new site, Kathryn. Thanks for the link.
ReplyDeleteHmmm...I did a little voting at the Crescat for the 1st time ever :) I was glad to see your blog listed. Someone finally got something right. (Actually, there were a couple of really good ones so I voted a few of the categories.)
Mary, I am really looking forward to more at Sacred Music!
ReplyDeleteI almost fell over when I saw my blog over at the Crescat.... I was very surprised!
The other blogs I looked at in the same category are much much better than mine, but it's kinda fun to be nominated :)
No, they are NOT better than yours :) Some are "better known" but this doesn't mean better at all. I was pleasantly surprised at a few of the blogs that were nominated this year - usually it's the same old, same old, so I don't bother voting.
