With eating popsicles comes great responsibility.
I am REALLY beginning to dislike popsicles, almost as much as I dislike playdough. Popsicles serve no purpose at all. At least with ice cream there is some sort of nutrition, you know, dairy. And ice cream fills you up. Popsicles do nothing but make messes and make everyones' tongues and faces and hands orange, purple, bright red, blue, or the best, green.
By the way, the start to homeschooling is going GREAT. Really! Really ;)
Actually it is (homeschooling going great), once we got over the whole beheading John the Baptist beginning and looked at the Joyful Mysteries and Luminous Mysteries and talked about how instrumental John the Baptist was in preparing the way for salvation, going before the Lord and all... I know, I'm weird, going from popsicles to the Canticle of Zachariah, it's the life of a homeschooling mom. Catholic homeschooling mom. Any family that may be reading this, you were right to be worried about homeschooling.
It was all fun and games until the popsicles started dripping everywhere......
Popsicles represent playfulness and it is only possible to pray when in right relationship with the Creator. Thus popsicles are an invitation in to Sabbath rest.
ReplyDeletePrudence, of course, always being considered.
Doesn't ice cream represent playfulness too? If so, I'll go with ice cream :)
ReplyDeleteI have the same gripe about popsicles. So why do I buy them? Because my daughter tells me that every kid in the country eats them and "I bet YOU ate popsicles when YOU were a kid."
ReplyDeleteYep, I did :)
Better than eating a locust any day. Maybe topping them with honey makes them bearable. (Just to stay on the subject. Lol!)
Oh good! If ice cream counts then I just got a good dose of Sabbath rest ;)
ReplyDeleteIt must be getting late, Mary, it took me awhile to figure out that you were jumping from popsicles to John the Baptist like I did. Locusts and honey, ha ha! I think it was because locust and honey were in separate sentences that I didn't put them together. Now I know I've gone completely over the edge. LOL :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for commenting Father Andrew and Mary.
