Hi Kathryn. I can't take the song too often--mostly because I can't take the sap of the line: 'Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops, but some of the other lyrics are powerful and resonate as truth to me:
We pray for wisdom Your voice to hear And we cry in anger when we cannot feel You near We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love As if every promise from Your Word is not enough All the while, You hear each desperate plea And long that we'd have faith to believe
&
When friends betray us When darkness seems to win We know that pain reminds this heart That this is not, this is not our home It's not our home
&
What if my greatest disappointments Or the aching of this life Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy
Colleen, I agree with you. I really love this song, but there are parts that are a bit sappy and even some of the singing sounds sappy. The lyrics that resonate with you also resonate with me. It's actually helpful to me to see the words written down here in your comment.... God must want to tell me something with these words :) Thank you so much for coming by and commenting.
Love love love this song. Every time I hear it, its like God is reminding me of this message ...
ReplyDeleteHello Michael! I love this song too. So happy that we are going to be prayer buddies this year :) Have a wonderful week!
