Yesterday, Unplanned by Abby Johnson was released. I downloaded the Kindle version last night and was up until after 2am reading it. I COULD NOT put it down!! Abby's courage and inner beauty shine through in this honest account of her work first as a Planned Parenthood volunteer and then as the Director of the Bryan/College Station Planned Parenthood.
Always having compassion and an inner drive to help women in crisis, Abby became involved with Planned Parenthood with this goal in her heart and with a desire to truly make abortion rare. She truly has a viewpoint that shows how we have more in common with people on the opposite side of the pro-life debate than we think. It is through unceasing prayer, compassion, and standing for Truth by prayer vigil volunteers that helped her begin to recognize the lies of the abortion industry and how abortion truly hurts women. God moved Abby's heart and gave her courage to step on the other side of the fence one day when she had to assist in an abortion performed using ultrasound. In God's great Mercy, He completely lifted the scales from her eyes and showed her the Truth. Her journey to this point and beyond is absolutely one of the most inspiring, and heartbreaking, accounts I have ever read or heard. Abby's pure heart is so evident as she honestly tells us her story and that of countless women around us. God is speaking to us as a nation and as a world through Abby and the 40 Days for Life campaign. Read her book and become inspired and filled with hope!!
